Bye Election to the Maharashtra Legislative Council

The seat of Shri Navnath Bhaurao Ahvad, a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, has been lying vacant since 18th July 2008. The seat has been declared vacant in accordance with the provisions of clause (4) of Article 190 of the Constitution, before the completion of his term of office which was till 7th July, 2010.

In view of this, the election commision has decided to hold bye-election to the Maharashtra Legislative Council by the Members of Legislative Assembly from 23rd October, 2008 (Thursday) to 25th October (Saturday). The schedule of the entire program is given below:
