TREMENDOUS PROGRESS UNDER ATAL RULE: ADVANI

Purnea (Bihar), Apr 25 (ANI) Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today said the country made tremendous progress during the past six years rule of the Vajpayee government.

Addressing an election meeting in support of BJP candidate Uday Singh alias Pappu Singh here, Advani said the nation's stature had also increased in the world, adding that the country would acquire the status of a developed country, if the NDA is voted back to power.

Advani said unlike in the 1999 Lok Sabha polls, the Congress had no prime ministerial candidate this time.

RJD Supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav, taking advantage of the situation, was proclaiming himself as the prime ministerial candidate, he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister said he had witnessed public anger against the Rabri Devi government during his Bharat Uday Rath Yatra in the state. The Rabri Devi government had not implemented any programme which could mitigate the sufferings of the common people, he added.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ravi Shanker Prasad said the present elections were being contested on the outstanding performance of the NDA and the failure of the Laloo Rabri regime of 14 years.

'The RJD Chief continues to try to strengthen the secular forces, but will again fail this time' he said.(ANI)
