  • Bihar's ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has raised strong objections to the BJP's demand for countermanding elections to the Chapra Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar, which is being contested by its chief Laloo Prasad Yadav and Union Civil Aviation Minister and BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy.

  • Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Leader of the Opposition Sonia Gandhi will campaign in Madhya Pradesh today.

  • BJP President M.Venkaiah Naidu today said that the party would approach the Election Commission and even the courts of the land to introduce a legislation to regulate the declaration of exit poll results and to make the organizers of such polls accountable.

  • The ruling party in India's eastern Bihar, one of the country's most lawless, has sought criminal proceedings against a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing him of instigating violence during Monday's polling.

  • Police have registered two cases against Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy and his bodyguards, charging them with booth capturing during the April 26 polls in Chapra.

  • Kashmir's main opposition National Conference party on Thursday held a rally in Doda district a day after suspected Muslim rebels killed two people and wounded 55 in a huge explosion.
