Independent MLAs to back NDA

Five Independent MLAs today met Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi and informed him that they are supporting the NDA and the alliance should be invited to form the government in the state.

"We have all told the Governor that we are supporting the NDA and there is no pressure on us from any part to give our support. The NDA should be invited to form the government," Sudesh Mahato told reporters here after meeting the Governor.

"I believe the Governor will soon invite the NDA," he said.

The five Independent MLAs, whose names were included in the 41-member list which the NDA submitted to Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi, met the Governor today, Raj Bhavan sources said.

The MLAs are Sudesh Mahato, Chandraprakash Choudhury, Hari Charan Rai, Enos Ekka and Madhu Kora.

The governor had said on Tuesday that he would meet all the 12 Independent MLAs to ascertain their views before taking a decision on whom to invite to form the government.
