March 03, 2005
Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi
has asked the administration to provide adequate security to the newly
elected independent MLAs.
With NDA and the UPA claiming support of independents, the Governor has
ordered that the security around the MLAs, especially Hari Narain
Choudhury and Enos Ekka.
Their names are apparently figured in the lists submitted by both the
alliances, sources said.
Senior Congress leader Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi on Tuesday alleged that
Ekka had been taken away by the rival camp against the wishes of his
chief NE Horo -- the president of the Jharkhand Party.
Unhappy with the Governor's decision to interview the 12 independents,
the NDA had charged the Governor with following delaying tactics.
Meanwhile, five independent MLAs met the Governor and informed him that
they are supporting the NDA and the alliance should be invited to form
the government.
