J'Khand governor's role questioned
March 03, 2005
Launching a scathing attack on the
Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibte Razi's 'delaying tactics to throttle
democracy', the NDA legislators alleged on Tuesday night that he was
following the Centre's dictats on the formation of new government in the
state.
"If the guardian of the Constitution is not protecting it, then
who will save it?" JD(U) legislature party leader Inder Singh
Namdhari asked while delivering a speech during the indefinite dharna by
the NDA MLAs in protest against the Governor's 'delaying tactics' even
after the NDA submitted to him a list of 41 MLAs, including five
independents this afternoon.
Amidst anti-Congress slogans, Namdhari said "Justice delayed is
justice denied."
He said in his long political career, he had seen a number of
governors, but "none was like the present governor who is not
inviting the largest pre-poll alliance combine to form government".
The legislators were addressing the dharna in turns with senior NDA
leaders, including former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi and BJP's
Rajnath Singh, sitting under a shamiana in front of the main gate of the
Raj Bhavan.
