Bhajan Lal leads the pack in Haryana race
March 01, 2005
The wily old fox of Haryana politics
Bhajan Lal appears to be ahead of his younger rivals in the race for the
chief minister's post on the eve of the crucial meeting of the newly
elected party MLAs.
If Bhajan Lal's candidature is endorsed by the MLAs for the top job in
Chandigarh, his nearest rival, influential Jat leader Bhoopinder Singh
Hooda is likely to find a berth in the Union council of ministers.
The Congress high command has deputed Ashok Gehlot and P M Sayeed as
observers.
Meanwhile, a CD, containing video clippings apparently shot in a
clandestine manner, shows one of the contenders for the top slot taking
in somewhat raunchy entertainment in the company of some unidentified
persons.
