Sachin
Pilot son of the late Rajesh Pilot was born on March 13th 1978 and was
educated at the Air Force School in New Delhi and at St. Stephen's
College, he also has a degree from the Wharton Business School in the
US. He aspires to be honest, have a clean image and "still survive
in the murky politics" like his father, late Rajesh Pilot. Sachin
is the Congress candidate in Dausa, Rajasthan, a constituency his father
had nurtured and later his mother Rama Pilot represented following the
demise of Rajesh in a road mishap. Rama Pilot has vacated the
constituency for her son. . Sachin knows getting elected from Dasua will
not change things overnight. Further, he sounds sensible enough to
realise that family names can only give a foothold in politics, but
ultimately an individual has to put his feet firmly on the ground. As
far as his constituency is concerned, Pilot wants to introduce insurance
and micro-finance schemes for the farmers, besides creating an
environment where people do not have to depend only on government jobs
for employment. Brought up in a household which constantly buzzed with
political activity, this 26-year-old business graduate from the US has
finally joined the electoral fray, determined to carry forward his
father's legacy. Sachin Pilot has been nominated by the Congress for
candidate from this constituency, which was nurtured by his father,
whose life was cut short by a tragic road accident, and later by his
mother.
