Ananth Kumar![]() Karnataka
State President Ananth Kumar was born in Bangalore on 22nd July 1959. In
1987 he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party having served in various
capacities in ABVP- State Secretary, State President of BJP Yuva Morcha
followed by General Secretary & National Secretary. In 1995 he
became National Secretary of the BJP. 1996 was a turning point in his
political career. His first stint in an electoral battle was contesting
from the Bangalore South constituency. He got reelected, in 1998. He
became the youngest Minister in Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee's cabinet in
1998. Ananth became the Civil Aviation Minister.This was followed by his
stints in various other Ministries like Tourism, Sports, Youth Affairs &
Culture, Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation.He contested the
election and was elected again with record margin, become the Union
Minister for Civil Aviation in Shri.Atal Behari Vajpayee's
