
Kurukshetra in Haryana is the reduced image
of the religious universe of the Hindus. It is believed that the Rig
Veda was composed between 1500 and 1000 BC in this place. It is also
believed that, it was here that the theological and philosophical
framework of Hinduism was forged between the 5th century BC and the
5th century AD. Kurukshetra was also the battleground of the great
18-day battle between the Pandavas and Kauravas.
