The invincibility of the man - Mr Lalu Prasad Yadav - so far

Padmshri Lalu Prasad Yadav no no...that's the name of the movie after his name ...the man himself is 'Biharshri' Lalu Prasad Yadav. The man who has under his control Bihar and the state of it for the past 15 years. And, is all set to enter yet another term if the M-Y lady luck continues to shines on him.

But, what makes the man so invincible. Just, as the statistics of Bihar...simply invincible. ('God, let no state ever try to beat the record of Bihar in all the areas where the state leads the nation from the bottom'. Amen ).

Well, the invincibility of the man is a matter of studies and as already known, several universities of repute are studying his success story. The results are hopefully awaited. Particularly by his detractors who have not just been waiting and praying but, making elaborate strategies and planning alliances with strangest of bedfellows just to topple the RJD regime in the state.

This happens every elections for the opposition is armed with a newest set of 'weapons' to target the man. 'Fodder scam', 'underdevelopment, 'crime', 'unemployment', 'poverty', 'corruption', 'nepotism' every possible 'weapon' has been tried and tested but apparently in vain. For, it seems the man has a ready 'antidote' for attack with every possible missile, the opposition could think of targeting him with. So much, so that, some feel that they are simply not able to invent a single device to tame the protracted success of RJD.

This time, however, the opposition is renewed with energy and apparently almighty as most of them are united to put an end to the Lalu-Rabri regime in Bihar. Though, the exit polls for Phase 1 elections are encouraging for the opposition. It is too early to predict the final results yet.

For, so long as its loyal voters, particularly the Muslims and Yadavs (comprising over 30 per cent of the states population) continue to stand solidly behind him-the man need not fear any kind of political opposition. In such a scenario, it matters little to the man and his party even if the opposition shouts its lungs out proving the backwardness of the state and back it allegations with loads of statistics. For, he has, what is needed to win an elections- the solid support of his vote bank besides of course, loads of the proverbial three M's-Muscle, Money and Mastaans (hoodlums).

The opposition this time is trying all possible strategies with JD(U) -BJP combine trying to strike a blow on the 'rear end' of RJD by attacking the backwardness of the state and Paswan's LJP making a high visibility frontal attack. Congress too is trying to generate goodwill amongst Muslim and trying to cut RJD's Muslim votebank. How much success their combined efforts will garner is yet unknown. For, apart from cutting the votes of RJD what these parties need to fight is the sense of invincibility of Messers Lalu Yadav which has become inherent in the minds of the public as well as the politicians. This fear it seems, is harder to conquer, than the man himself.
