
Vaishali is situated in the eastern Indian
state of Bihar, around 55 km off Patna, the capital of the state.
The town, is equally important place for both the Buddhists and
Jains. The birthplace of Lord Mahavira, Vaishali was a rich center
for trade and industry in the ancient ages. One of the world's first
democratic republics, Vaishali today, is a small village surrounded
by banana, mango groves and rice fields.
